Tuition is based on how many sessions your child is enrolled in. One session is half a day.
The 2022-23 monthly rate is $93/session/month, for sessions beyond the first three sessions covered by public preschool funding. The first three sessions an eligible child attends are paid for by the State’s Universal Preschool funding (UPK), and are charged a different rate to match the funding amount (currently $3178 per school year per child). This is intended to cover 10 hours of preschool attendance each week for the school year. Ten hours is approximately 1.5 days (3 sessions) at our school. This disparity in tuition rates is intended to both meet the goals of the Public Preschool funding program and to keep out-of- pocket costs to families low.
To receive Universal PreK funding families MUST apply each year by the given deadline. The UPK funding application paperwork is on the local school district websites and gets sent directly to the school district for the town you live in. All addresses and needed information are on the district website and on the forms. Note that a child must be at least 3 years old by September 1st to qualify for public funding in that school year. Children can, and are welcome to, attend the preschool when they turn 3 later in the school year but will NOT be eligible for public funding until the next school year. Scholarships and state subsidy funding are available for all enrolled children who financially qualify, including those receiving UPK funding. See Financial Aid for more information.
Tuition Examples: If your child is 3 years old by September 1st, 2022 and enrolled for 4 sessions/week (i.e. 2 full days), your tuition payment will be $93/month, as the first three sessions are covered by state funding. If your child does not qualify for state funding due to age as described above, your tuition payment would be $372/month.
A child who qualifies for UPK funding and attends for one full day and one half day (3 sessions), or 2 days from 8-1 pm (10 hours) would pay no tuition as UPK would fully cover that.
Families will receive an emailed statement each month from the preschool’s bookkeeper, Dever Accounting Services. Each month’s payment, from September through June, is due on the date indicated on the invoice. You are required to pay each month in full regardless of absences caused by such things as personal vacations, illnesses, school vacation days or public holidays.
Tuition is due to the preschool’s bookkeeper, address below, however tuition checks should be made out to Lincoln Cooperative Preschool. Please indicate the invoice number on your check and mail to;
Lincoln Cooperative Preschool c/o Bethany Dever Dever Accounting Services, PC PO Box 416 Bristol, VT 05443
For specific account information, please contact Bethany Dever, 802-453-7000 or [email protected].
If you alter your child’s attendance schedule, be sure to inform the Treasurer. If you sign up for a preschool or afternoon slot and later decide to drop it, please give one month’s notice before you drop. We need time to advertise the space.
