Two 8-1 Days a week
Who is eligible? Any student who is 3 by September 1st of that school year receives 10 free hours of preschool a week. How do I apply?
If you live in another district, check your local school district’s website for the application.
When do I need to apply? Families who want the funding for the whole year must submit their application the summer before they start preschool. However, any eligible student may apply for the funding at any time during the year.
Income-Based Financial Assistance
What? The state run Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) or what is commonly referred to as “Subsidy” is an income-dependent childcare funding subsidy issued by the state. The amount of money you receive is dependent on how much money your family makes each month, how big your family is, and how many sessions your child is attending preschool. There are other reasons besides financial need where a family may also qualify for assistance. Who is eligible? Any family who meets these income guidelines. It’s worth checking if you are unsure! Families making up to $11,748/month may be eligible. How do I apply? Here is a link to the State Subsidy Application. However, it is highly recommended to first get in touch with Mary Johnson Child Center, in Middlebury, and they can help you navigate the process and get an idea of potential qualification before filling out all the paperwork.. The phone number to call is (802) 388-4304, or you can email [email protected] When should I apply? Any time before or during the school year. You must apply before the school year starts if you want the subsidy to cover the entire school year.
LCP Scholarship Fund
What? A scholarship of varying amounts, usually $93/month, provided to families directly from the Lincoln Cooperative Preschool. There is potential for an additional “one-time” scholarship as well. Please reach out to the treasurer or president of the board if you are interested in a one-time scholarship.
Who is eligible? Any family who is receiving universal pre-k, has applied for and is receiving (or been denied) the state subsidy via Mary Johnson. If more than one family with demonstrated need applies the funds will be divided evenly. If funds are limited, families with the greatest demonstrated need will receive the assistance.
How do I apply? You can print and then fill out this application. Alternatively, they are available in a folder in the coat room of the preschool. Either way, fill out the application and place it in the treasurer’s mailbox at school. The board will review applications at the next board meeting, and shortly thereafter inform the applicant if their application was approved.
When should I apply? As soon as your family feels financial assistance would be necessary and helpful.
